Dominik Gümbel is a freelance concept artist/illustrator from German who has worked for studios like Massive Black, Nuare Studios and many more.
His skillset covers a wide range of fields like character design, advertisement illustration and 2D/3D animation. Outside of the gaming and movie industry he has experience working as an exhibition designer for museums all over Germany.
Besides his professional client work he focuses on his personal art career with multiple exhibitions all over the world. His work was shown on the New York Time Square and also on Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo.
Working on initial concepts and ideas for characters and props.
Developing visuals , storyboards as well as assets for short animation movies.
My studies included various fields like classic graphic design but also illustration for advertisement, animation and UI/UX design.
Finished my Bachelor with my thesis about worldbuilding for video games with focus on character design and splash illustration.
Giving several lectures about concept art, character design and how to approach illustration in the digital medium.
